Ministries

A ministry is a group of courses that belong to one team — Worship, Youth, Kids, First Impressions, and so on. Ministries give you a way to split course ownership so each team manages its own training without stepping on the rest of the org.

Who can see and do what

  • Admins — can see and edit every course in every ministry, create new ministries, and manage members.
  • Creators — can only see and edit courses in the ministries they belong to. Add a Creator to a ministry to give them ownership over that team's courses.
  • Learners — ministries don't affect learners directly. They see every course they've been assigned, regardless of which ministry owns it.

The default ministry

Every organization has one default ministry (labeled with a "Default" badge on the Settings → Ministries page). New courses are assigned to the default ministry unless you pick another when creating them. You can change which ministry is the default at any time using the ministry's action menu.

The default ministry can't be archived. If you want to retire it, pick another ministry as the default first.

Adding a ministry

  1. Go to Settings → Ministries.
  2. Click New ministry.
  3. Give it a name (e.g. "Worship Team") and an optional description, then save.
  4. Open the new ministry's row and add Admins or Creators who should own courses in that ministry.

Moving a course to a different ministry

Open the course's Overview tab. If your org has more than one ministry, a Ministry picker appears in the settings grid. Pick a different ministry and the change saves immediately. Creators can only move a course into a ministry they already belong to.

Archiving a ministry

Archiving a ministry removes it from the ministry picker so new courses can't be assigned to it, but it doesn't touch courses that are already there — they stay in place, still editable by the same people. You can restore an archived ministry at any time from the Archived ministries section on the Ministries page.

Plan availability

Ministries are available on the Equip plan and above. On Starter plans, every course belongs to your org's single default ministry and the picker is hidden.
